The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) has gone live with the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This is a significant technology investment that will bring dramatic improvements to the way that the NHBRC carries out its mandate. Since going live on the 2nd November 2015, some of our customers have experienced delays in accessing services such as registrations and renewals of memberships with the NHBRC.

NHBRC CEO, Mongezi Mnyani says the road to implementing the system has been a long one and that the NHBRC is committed to the speedy resolution of the IT issues brought to its attention by customers.

“The issue raised by our customers, I am pleased to announce, is receiving our highest priority attention and our war-room, set-up to deal with such eventualities, is committed to resolving this matter today, 18 November 2015 as promised in our communication to our customers ”.

This system has not been used before in this environment, he says. “It is a world first for SAP AG. For the past year our IT team has been working closely with our local service provider to customise the SAP system to meet the requirements of our business. However, we are aware that the inability of our builders to register and renew their membership has been an issue as it affected their ability to deliver on their work schedules and for this inconvenience we apologise unreservedly,” concludes Mnyani.

The financial and productivity impact on the building industry is a worry to the NHBRC as home builders are the organisation’s primary stakeholders. The NHBRC will continue to communicate directly with its affected customers as well as financial services stakeholders, keeping them updated as the new SAP system takes root.

Once fully implemented, the system promises to deliver a seamless and efficient customer experience which will improve the turn-around times in terms of dealing with the regulator.
