Although Mandela Day is five months away, the National Home Builder’s Registration Council (NHBRC) believes that this day should be celebrated every day. It is for this reason that the NHBRC partnered with Tshiala Construction and Montagu Homes to bring change to the JS Mpanza Primary School in Diepkloof, Soweto. The project is part of their community upliftment initiative.

Through the initiative, the 42 year-old school recently got newly painted, new ceiling, clean yard and staircase to the playground.

“We are grateful and humbled by what the NHBRC, Tshiala Construction and Montagu Homes have done for our school. The children now have easy access to the playground – before it was difficult and steep,” says JS Mpanza Primary School Principal Ms. Nonhlanhla Ngcobo.

“Community upliftment is one of the NHBRC’s core objectives; we pride ourselves in giving a helping hand to those in need,” adds Tshepo Nkosi, spokesperson for the NHBRC.

The NHBRC and partners celebrated the completion of the project with an official handover event at the school.

‘’We jumped to an opportunity of partnering with NHBRC on this project, kids are very close to our hearts, we are proud that we are part of this project,” says Muda Marema, Director of Tshiala Construction.
