The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) is established in
terms of the Housing Consumer Protection Measures Act, 95 of 1998. The NHBRC
was established to protect the interest of consumers and regulate the home
building industry.
The NHBRC has a mandate through the Act to assist homebuilders through
training and inspections, to achieve and maintain satisfactory home building

Once the NHBRC receives your application, you will be recorded on the training database, and this database gets forwarded to the training provider.
The training provider will contact you with available dates for training and schedule you for training.
How will this training affect my schedule?
Training is designed and scheduled in a manner that will not affect production. The NHBRC recognises that learners cannot be taken away from their workplaces for a long duration of time.
Training is therefore broken down into smaller manageable units of learning, which will cause little interference with your projects
What do I get at the end of the training?
Learners are awarded with a certificate of competence. Their achievement will also be recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) where every qualification or unit standard-linked training achievement of learners gets recorded.
This enables the learner to work on unit standards which builds towards a qualification.
Will the NHBRC find me work?
No. The mandate of the NHBRC is to assist home builders through training and inspection to achieve satisfactory technical standards of home building.
Therefore the responsibility will be on the learner to use the skills that they have acquired to procure and sustain their businesses
